An Overview of Life Long Learning on the World Wide Web
Welcome to the Central Institute of Technology's Self-Study Life-long Learning on the Web course center, offering you FREE study guides on a wide variety of subjects. Access to these self study guides is free. You may view them online and print them out for your personal use. They are designed for people of all ages, with no prior background necessary, to learn and understand about Information Technology. We find many people use it to supplement existing forms of learning or to learn new skills.
The objective of this material is to help you learn about information technology, and assist educators world-wide by providing a set of guides that supplement their own teaching programs. Others around the world have taken this concept on board, and we are indebted to people like Stéphane Tonneau, Frédéric Grognard, and Prof. Y. Deville at the Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium, for their French translation of the Pascal Programming notes. Many Universities, colleges and training organizations around the world use this online material to supplement their own teaching programs. We have placed a sample list of some of these locations here.
The best way of working through a module is to spend a little time each day till you have completed all sections. Each module has interactive tests, which you should regularly use to test your knowledge of the module material. The average amount of time to complete a module is about 30-40 hours, depending upon prior knowledge. In some cases, additional software may be required to complete a module. We do not offer for sale, or sell any software that might be required. Such software could be Windows 95, Windows NT server or other software as described in the module. Some software used in the module is shareware, and can be downloaded from the provided links. It is your responsibility to ensure that you adhere to any copyrights associated with the use of such software.
We do not offer, at this time, any credits or certificates for completion of these modules. Each module is similar, incorporating notes and interactive tests.
